YouGov considers move from London Stock Exchange to New York

Pollster company YouGov has said it might shift its listing from the London Stock Exchange to New York.

The research firm – founded by Stephan Shakespeare and former chancellor Nadhim Zahawi – said it was “considering” a move after recently expanding.

Mr Shakespear told the Financial Times:

“I think the markets there are better at supporting companies like ours.”

“The US spends the most on marketing data.

“They are the most savvy.

“It is a natural base.

He said YouGov could either transfer its primary listing to New York or set up a secondary listing.

A spokesman for the company said:

“The board is considering all options, but no decision has been made.

“A US listing is not being considered in the near term.”

The possible move comes as several UK companies look to America for higher valuations and more substantial capital.
