Sacked Tory MP Andrew Bridgen is set to join Laurence Fox’s Reclaim Party.
It will give Reclaim its first and only seat in the House of Commons.
A delighted Mr Fox broke the news at a London press conference.
The actor said:
“Mr Bridgen is a decent father and successful businessman who has been cancelled and reviled.
“British people have a right to hear what Andrew Bridgen has to say and the Reclaim Party will make sure he is heard.”
Mr Bridgen said:
“I was a prisoner in the Conservatives.
“Now I have reclaimed my freedom.”
He hinted other MPs will turn to Reclaim.
“This is just the beginning.”
Mr Bridgen lost the Conservative whip after comparing the Nazi slaughter of millions in WWII to Covid-19 jabs.
He said it [the jabs] was “the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust”.
After in investigation into the comment from the North West Leicestershire MP he was expelled from the party.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned the comments as “utterly unacceptable”.
A regular vaccines critic, Mr Bridgen accused the Tories of kicking him out “under false pretences”.
He claims and had made clear his intention to run against his party at the next election.
He hit out at “corruption, collusion and cover-ups”.
Mr Bridgen was recently suspended for breaking the MPs’ code of conduct over lobbying.
Earlier this year, Mr Bridgen was handed a five-day suspension for breaking the MPs’ code of conduct banning lobbying.
