Locals use TikTok to get donations for LA fire victims

A group of street vendors using the power of social media have rallied their community to help those affected by destruction of wildfires in Arcadia, California.

Jimmy Medina Jr said that a TikTok live broadcast helped him to buy supplies and prompted generous donations.

“Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers sent us donations… with their donations, we’re able to buy all the ingredients,” said Mr Medina Jr.

A donation centre has been set-up in a car park in Santa Anita Park, where volunteers are helping those in need
