MP mugged by gang who snatched mobile phone

Labour MP Chris Webb has described being mugged in London by a gang who stole his mobile phone.

Writing on X, the member for Blackpool South said he was attacked as he returned to his flat in the capital on Monday night.

“Luckily I have no injuries and I am ok,” he said.

He also praised the Metropolitan Police for their “swift response and support”.

“The officers who assisted me went above and beyond,” he said. “They are a remarkable credit to the force.”
