A teenager was nabbed speeding at 102 mph only four hours after passing his driving test.
The youngster now faces a lengthy driving ban.
The Magistrates’ Court Sentencing Guidelines says a person speeding more then 100 mph faces an automatic ban.
And they must appear at court for the length of ban to be decided.
Norfolk Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team (NSRAPT) spotted the speeding car on the A47 dual carriageway at Swaffham.
NSRAPT shared a photo of their speed meter reading on its Twitter account with a print out of the speed.
They wrote:
“A driver was stopped at 2pm yesterday (2 August) during speed checks conducted by PC Writer on the A47 in Swaffham.
“He was clocked doing 102mph, having only passed his driving test four hours earlier.
“TOR issued for excess speed! #DriveToArrive #Fatal4.”
The DVLA rules that new drivers are subject to a probationary period of two years from the date they pass their test.
They will lose their licence if they gain six or more points in that time.
