Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said sorry for failing to wear a seat belt while in the back of a moving official car.
The PM had taken off the safety strap to film an item for social media.
Number 10 spokesman Jamie Davies said: “Mr Sunak made an error of judgment.
“The Prime Minister fully accepts this was a mistake and apologizes.
“He believes everyone should wear a seat belt.”
Failing to wear a seat belt carries a possible £500 fine.
Downing Street said any decision to investigate the offece was a “matter for the police”.
Lancashire Police has said it is looking into matter.
Conservative Blackpool MP Scott Benton said “politically motivated complaints” about the offence were “not good use of frontline resources”.
He added: “While the force do an amazing job their time is better spent investigating serious crime which impacts on my constituents”.
